Charlotte Harbor National Golf Course, previously named Bobcat Trail Golf & Country Club, is a Semi-Private, 18 hole golf course located in North Port, Florida.
The course first opened for play in 1998. The course was designed by 2003 Canadian Open Champion and former PGA Champion Bob Tway and golf course architect Lee Singletary, "The Cat" is the epitome of "risk-reward" golf. The keys to scoring at "The Cat" are well-placed drives on the wide, rolling fairways; accurate irons to the roper "shelf"; and imagination and steady nerves on and around the large, undulating, well-bunkered greens.
Water comes into play in some shape or form on all but two holes. Most water is located along the perimeters, but there is some H2O situated perilously close to landing zones or greenside.
Championship tees: par-71, 6,748 yards, course rating 72.9, slope rating 129
#2 tees: par-71, 6,242 yards, course rating 70.7, slope rating 123
#3 tees: par-71, 5,765 yards, course rating 68.4, slope rating 117
Forward tees: par-71, 4,741 yards, course rating 68.7, slope rating 115
The course closed in August 2021. The future is uncertain. The current owner has the property on the market for $13 million, which would only be justified if the property could be converted to residential housing.

Rude staff extremely slow play. Have played more than once, but its always slow play. Doubt I would play again. There are much better courses in area for the same money or less- Riverwood, Kingsway, Heron creek, Longmarsh, Lemon Bay, and others.

Of course the rates are much higher in Season, but I believe this course is the best in the area. We played on the Big Summer Card rate of $30.00. I still play it in Season at $90.00.
